The break was reported on Monday afternoon on Stevens Avenue, which affected Valhalla and Hawthorne residents. It was not immediately clear what caused the break.
Crews were on scene making repairs, though it was unclear when the situation would be under control. Residents in the area may experience a significant decrease in water pressure in their homes as crews work in the area.
The water main break affected the Westlake High School campus, which experienced a drop in water pressure, leading to the relocation of certain after-school activities. Evening activities are to go on as scheduled, and school is set to open regularly on Tuesday morning.
